I'm in my mid 30's can I still get a record deal?
I've always written songs although I am not a musician and have not really studied music. Nevertheless I think I'm as good as a lot of the stuff I've heard through the years if not better. My problem is I'm not really interested in fame, performing and the lot. I've always fancied the idea of being a studio artist who gave occional live performances. However, I would like to get my music out there for people to hear and if I could earn a decent living on it all the better. I've done a few jobs now and I'd be happier earning a living off my music. Most of my songs are ballads along the lines of Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, and Elton John. People often comment that vocally I sound a bit like Elvis and Stevie. Sort of Baroque Pop, Neo Soul, and Jazz. I'm not really looking to be signed to a major label if it happened great. But these days it seems only teenagers get signed to major labels and that ship has probably sailed for me.
