Would it have been better or worse for Christianity and Catholicism not to be founded or created?

I do not think that Christianity specifically caused scientific repression. If it weren't Christianity, it would have been something else. A lot of people were superstitious back then and those things had nothing to do with Christianity. It's impossible to stay what would or would not have been but science and technology are flourishing today...sure, they didn't have these things 50 years ago...but that's what progression is. People will probably think we weren't as advanced as we should have been 150 years from now and blame it on Atheism. You just never know.
