Can I phone a manager on the weekend?

I went for an interview at a banquet hall for a part-time position as a waitress. The interview wasn't A+ but i still did a good job. Anyways, I really felt like he would hire me and he said he would call me the next day or maybe tomorrow. I didnt get a call yesterday and so far today no one has called. I really wanted this job. So can I call him tomorrow even though it's a weekend? or will that look bad or something? I dont want to call him tonight since it's friday night and I'm positive there's some party going on tonight. I just want to know if I got it.. Or if he's still looking around for more applicants.
