Why do some macho celebrities become more sissy/ gay when they are older?

Examples are Marlon Brando and Hugh Hefner. Brando was playboy and crazy about men whne young but in old age, they say he became bit gay. Hefner is effeminate/ sissy in old age and apparently like gay
